Nobody is Perfect...

We noticed here at Roadstar HQ that there is tons of advice available after you have passed your tests...but very little about when you fail.

The best of learner drivers can fail their tests purely from experiencing test day nerves. We know only too well what exams can make you feel like, so here are some tips on over coming those dreaded nerves...

Hints and tips from other learner drivers about how they overcame driving test nerves:

· Think of all the good times that you’re going to have when you pass your test

· Imagine that you’re a taxi driver and you’re taking someone home and have to follow their directions.

· Chill out with friends before your test to help relax

· Chewing gum

· Bach’s rescue remedy

· Have a positive attitude – “I will try my best but if I fail then at least I’ve tried”

· Don’t have a big meal before your test – it will make you feel sluggish and tired

· Ask your instructor to sit in on your test – a familiar face in the car can make you feel more at ease

· Don’t tell everybody when your test is!

· Eat a bowl of porridge or a banana before your test

· Listen to music before your test

And our advise...you wouldn’t be taking the test if you weren’t ready!

Everyone suffers from nerves of some sort and react differently, my wife for example speaks 100x too fast when she is nervous and forgets to breathe!

When you’re out there on a test, the most important thing to remember is to breathe, remember everything we have taught you, if things go a little wrong and you feel like you are making a mistake, stop, take a deep breath and try and rectify it.

And well...if it all got a bit too much and things didn’t go quite according to plan, don’t kick yourself too hard, in South Korea a woman has failed her driving test a record number of 771 times, its not going to take you that many!

So go home, brush yourself off and chillout!

You cant book a test retake for 10 days, so in that time go and have some fun! Re book your test after that time then give us a call so we can work on those teething problems.
